The Central Nervous System (CNS)

The Central Nervous System consists of the brain and spinal cord. The
main function of this part of the system is to get information from the
body and send out instructions. The CNS receives sensory information
from all parts of the body. On receipt of this information, the CNS
analyses the information, and thoughts, emotions and memories are
then generated and stored. The CNS usually responds to nerve impulses
by stimulating muscles or glands, which creates an appropriate
response to the original stimulus such as a change in temperature.
