Leading from each of the kidneys to the bladder is a 25cm long tube
called the ureters. The walls of the ureters are hollow and contain
smooth muscles which contracts and allows the movement of urine out
of the kidneys. Each Ureter is lined with a membrane coated with
mucus. This lining is impermeable to the normal soluble substances of
the urine.
